Nakajima Yuto was born in Tokyo on August 10, 1993. He joined Johnny's and Associates on March 28, 2004. Like most, he was only 10-years-old.
Quickly after joining, Yuto had been selected for a Junior group known as J.J.Express which stood for Johnny's Juniors Express.
Yuto is an easily excitable member of Hey! Say! JUMP, thus prompting him to need to learn new skills or constantly keep himself busy.
Ever since debut, Yuto has been playing drums for the group's live concerts as well as songs in the recording studios. As well as wrote the drum music (as well as lyrics) for the group's song "Dash!!"
On top of playing drums, Yuto also plays some bass and guitar, badly as he likes to put it.
Yuto's main personal hobby that has stretched over many years, is photography. His love for cameras has extended to owning an extensive camera collection which contains cameras as old as 79 years old, to the newest models. His favourite brand for everyday use cameras is Canon. His love for cameras has open up opportunities to be able to film scenes for many of the Promotional Video "behind the scenes." One of his bigger accomplishments for his photography was shooting for the group's calendar of 2014.
As displayed before debut in 2007, Yuto had a dancing skill not many other members of the company decided to persue, tap dancing. In six of the live concerts, Yuto has performed tap dancing solos; most recent being "Waiting in the Rain" solo song of the SENSE or LOVE tour.
On July 10, 2012, Yuto made it onto the front cover of popular magazine Fine Boys, marking his debut as a professional model, he was only 19.
One of his newer hobbies is building computer components and small robotic parts. As he is all self taught on this subject, his skills are not as good as he hoped but he still does it for fun.
His most difficult skill that he has learned over the years is language. He says learning English is fun, but one of the more difficult feats he's approached in his time as an idol. He has been learning for years from former member Okamoto, but once he left in 2018 Yuto went on to get professional tutors and has been learning that way ever since.
Along side Arioka and Hikaru, Yuto is known as one of the clowns of the group. He likes to stir up trouble and try to make others laugh. One thing he is known for is trying (and succeeding) to make Yamada feel embarrassed. One of his main methods is to compliment Yamada's body.
